 View event photos and video Dear Michigan Patriots, I cannot thank you enough for your hard work. Since the beginning and through the present day, you did things that supporters for no other candidate did: you have gone out of your comfort zone, reached out to strangers, walked your precinct until your feet hurt, built strong local organizations, donated with incredible generosity, and worked harder than anyone can expect. In the end, our opponents and their backers plowed through a colossal sum of money—$6.6 million—to spread rumors and even woo Democrats for their vote, while we ran a lean-and-mean grassroots campaign, building volunteer organizations and precinct leaders around the state. And our events with Dr. Paul (see photos and video below) painted a picture to prove beyond any doubt that Ron Paul is the candidate to defeat Barack Obama in November. We showed at Central Michigan University with Soldiers, Airmen, and Sailors for Ron Paul that only Ron Paul has the support of our men and women in uniform. We showed at the Pinnacle Center in Hudsonville with Small Business Owners for Ron Paul that only Ron Paul stands up to Big Labor and defends the interests of small business owners from the privilege of the elite. We showed at Michigan State University with Youth for Liberty, Youth for Paul that only Ron Paul draws the masses of young people needed to win the general election with a record-breaking 4,000 students in attendance. At the Ford Center in Dearborn with Doctors for Dr. Ron Paul we reminded the country that only Ron Paul has stood strong against the individual mandate, the cornerstone of Obamacare, and only he can debate Barack Obama with any credibility on the subject. Most of all, at Little Rock Baptist Church in inner city Detroit, Dr. Paul proved his true understanding of the problems facing urban America, his compassion for those of us facing the worst of the economy, his willingness to confront address race issues, and ultimately that he is the only candidate who is at ease talking about his solutions with anyone in any setting. And indeed, we did win Detroit. You should all be very proud of yourselves for all that you have accomplished, and now, the battle is far from over. Take some time to rest and rejuvenate, but be ready to build for the future, because now the delegate chase--and the real fun--begins.
